Here are some of the stats from Mathew Oh's website:
According to the State Department, from October 1, 2006 through May 30, 2007, the USCIS requested and was authorized the total EB visa numbers of 66,426. Between June 1 and the first few days of July (?), the USCIS requested and was authorized over 60,000 EB visa numbers, in approximately one month. Since it has been made clear by the USCIS that during the last weekend of June 30 and July 1 (2 days) the USCIS approved 25,000 EB 485 applications, apparently over 40,000 visa numbers were requested and authorized before the weekend in a period of less than one month. Obviously the 60,000 plus cases must thus have been approved (?) in one month. Unconformed sources indicate that they processed and approved (?) a substantial number of applications on Sunday, July 1, exhausting the EB numbers by July 1 and making the EB number unavailable not from July 1 but from July 2, 2007. It is interesting that even before the legal team initiates any discovery, the truth starts coming out of the cabinet a bit by bit.
I have a question:
Total VISA available for the year = 140,000
USICS approved till May 31 = 66,426
USICS approved Jun 1- Jun 29 = 40,000
USICS approved Jun 30 - July 1 = 25,000
So VISAs still available 140,000 - 66,426 - 40,000 - 25,000 = 8574
So why are they Unavailable on 2nd Jjuly 2007?

I agree, even though its a good idea, we need to be focussed and go with what is achievable. If we get side tracked, we may not get anything accomplished.

That is the victory due to our admin fixes campaign. Your thousands of letters are working here.
We had received good feedback in our meetings with the administration.
The whole process of making final announcements is just too slow!!
We recently had another meeting to discuss one more admin fix item that has not been addressed yet and was part of our letters. Let us hope some decision comes out soon enough.
Pappu, then why no to plan for another letter campaign, if that is what making things work a little bit.

I know some of you must think:
"What the heck difference is FIVE dollars going to make?????"
Well $5 x 30,000 = $150,000 I hope people understand that, $150,000 is NOTHING to sneeze at. So people, you dont even need to dig too deep. Just FIVE DOLLARS.
Less than the cost of a SUBWAY Sandwich LUNCH.

Thanks to the glorious service of the Atlanta center  I missed the I-485 bus by 7 days( Labor cleared on Aug end ). Many people with later PD's got cleared from the Chicago PERM center . Now I just watch as all members get their EAD's and AP's while I wait with nothing but hope and watch legislation after legislation fail in the senate and house , and the letters flying all over the place .
Just so that you feel better...I missed by about the same time.
Keep your hopes alive!

Is there any way of knowing how many visas (for GC) are left for this year?
When will we know how many GC's were issued (Employment based) this year?

I have got a PM from another IV member whose 485 got denied yesterday because of 140 revocation. He switched the job after 180 days and sent AC21 docs as well. He is willing to share his ordeal with us.
Are we sending personal exp of the ppl affected along with the letter ? I guess, it makes perfect sense to send some real 485 denial examples.
I mentioned in this thread about the response that I got from ombudsman. So they would love to hear about the specific cases. In fact they would be more than willing to look into the specific cases. because that gives the strength to question USCIS.

Hi..
I wud say its a brilliant thought and u shud go ahead and compile ideas and create a beautiful document. If nothing else it can be a good resource for others to read .
What is America losing because of our prolonged wait for Green Cards?
Money in the form of Taxes and more and more skilled labor :
People in India now don't want to come on H1B's because they don't see any future in US anymore. They think instead of returning back after an unsuccesful dream of living in US they cud gather what they have currently and stay in India -- where they wud eventually have to settle later.
Money in the form of Mortagages Property Investments -
Indians mostly prefer to invest in good real estate properties atleast better than the other two dominant categories in US [ Hispanic and African - American ]. There will be a surge of better mortgage payers if the Indian population see a long term stay in US.
Skilled Labor because most companies dont hire H1bs for additional cost factor to be given to USCIS . And even if some companies want to hire H1B people for cheap labor, these skilled labor are inclined to get greencards. Most companies dont do that or may be start the whole process too late because of the long queue and they think instead putting so much efforts to make this H1B guy permananent [ hassle free] they settle for lesser skilled labor with more salary who has a permanent residence/ citizenship because they are hassle free.
Have to return back to work but ..will write more later.
Thanks

Once the window is open. They pre/adjudicate as per the Reciept Date. Also if all backgrounds checks are over...then among other attributes it falls within the "low hanging fruit" area for quick pre/adjudication.
See the Standard Operating Procedures link posted above for a clue. Also recently the NSC confirmed this. Will post the link as soon as I find it.

min contribution required is $25 per month
I support donations but not mandatory donations. Its not a good idea.
More, I want to understand little more about this. Is it $25 only per month minimum subscription to visit donor only forums for every one?

you might want to contact the indian community that donated to Hillary and inform them with her vote against immigrants. they need to write her a letter asking for answers. she has to know that legal immigrants have supports from their communities like this community that donated money ($2M is a lot of money and should have a word for it)
we have to write to senators ( Democrats especially) as a group and ask why they voted against legal immigrants. let show them that we are following what going on and we are aware of their actions against us.
let setup a web fax to send them as a group.
can someone write a letter to protest their votes against legal immigrants and then we can send it as a web fax.
Indian community gave 2 million dollars in fund raising to her this month and she forgets all that. Don't contribute a dime to narrow minded people like these. It is like a slap in the face for the community

OK, I edited the text to make it clearer that 20-25 years applies only to some family based immigrants. Let me know if it reads OK (grammar etc.) after the edits.

As this is your article, you have all the freedom to write on what impacts you. However, keep in mind that FB immigration is still a sore spot with the American public as the perception is that Immigrants bring their parents here to collect on SS and Medicare (true in some cases I guess). If it were left up to me, I would leave FB Immigration out of the writeup.......
Just my 2 cents.
Grammar etc looks fine to me :-))

How does that work? There is no law or process to connect an abandoned labor. I had approved labor with a PD of 1999 that got lost when I switched companies. But no one seems to be connecting that to me.
You can use that priority date if I140 was filed for you based on that and approved. Was I140 filed for you ? Or you just abandoned it while labor was pending ?? If the later, your employer must have made money when labor substitution was allowed :) (Making a BIG assumption here )
